We currently have no reception from Channel 44 (BBC1,2 etc) although we did have reception last weekend. Neigbours have had similar ocasional signal loss. Aerial is on roof; have run reset and have no channels on ch44.

Graham Chamberlain: Is there a tree (or trees) between you and the transmitter?
If you go to the manual tuning screen and enter/select C44, but do not press the button to scan, see if it gives an indication as to the strength and quality on that channel. Some receivers give more away than others, so it might be worth looking at them all.

Now C44 is strength and quality =10, but for how long? Many locals experience this on/off problem. How can I escalate the problem? It's 3rd world reception out here!

Graham Chamberlain: I suggest that you speak to BBC Engineering on 0370 010 0123 and explain the issue, including that it affects others.
I reserve judgement on how successful I think you might be(!)
That said, the BBC is Public Service Broadcaster so may have obligations to sort out issues, although I'm not sure what it could do, apart from change the channel, if one is available. That then begs the question as to whether the other two channels should be changed for the same reason.
Looking at the projected coverage map of Hannington on this site I think that it is a likely cause.
