We are in Folkestone. Have an hdd recorder that has suddenly lost all but the bbc multiplex. The tv it is connected to and all the other tv's in the house are able to pick up all channels. We have an aerial booster.
Have tried returning to factory settings, scanning all frequencies manually but nothing.

Help!?

Brian: You haven't said, but I'm guessing here that you have your aerial directed at the Dover transmitter as it broadcasts digital services. Folkestone does not carry any digital until switchover.

In which case, there is engineering works at Dover which mean that analogue and digital TV is "liable to interruption". See the Digital UK website:

David dodds: Put your postcode into DigitalUK's website. You are just TWO KM away from the Folkstone transmitter, and even though its a very low power transmitter, its highly likely your tuner is being overloaded, especially if you have a booster (why?). Hence the problem.

But check that you are tuned to Folkstone - its not impossible you picked up another transmitter.

Linda Burnell: Please provide a postcode so we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter. Also, have you checked the cables and connections behind your TV? A loose or damaged cable is the cause of many problems and is often easily fixed.

D Warman: The coverage prediction for your postcode shows that you are served by the lite transmitter at Horn Street although it may be possible to get reception from Dover which does broadcast more channels, however this will be with a weaker signal and you would probably need a new aerial. There are no plans to broadcast any further services from any lite transmitters as most of them cover a relatively small number of homes so it would not provide a good return on investment for any commercial broadcasters.
