I'm not sure that I'm tuned into the right transmitter or not, my box is picking up bbc channels on band 43 and the rest on band 50?
the signal on 43 is terrible, at the moment it is so intermittent that i can't retune the programs, it flashes between 4% and 0% with rare flashes of 22%
band 50 is not much better strength wise, 8%, but the signal quality is 100% so i am able to tune and watch these channels ok.
am i on the wrong transmitter? is there anything i can do to find the right transmitter, or get a better signal strength on the transmitter i am on?
also, can someone tell me why we are the first town to switch over but we have only a quarter of the channels of people at say harrington that havn;t even officailly switched over yet? they can get UKgold, Dave etc and we're stuck with the bare minimum?

Roy: OK, it sounds like you are getting signals from Whitehaven digital TV transmitter | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice rather than this transmitter.
As you can't get signals from a main Freeview transmitter, you are limited to the public service transmissions.

Roy - I am in Dumfries & Galloway with similar issues as were reliant on relay transmitters. I have "Freesat". This seems to be the way to go and certainly around me local installers seem to be advising this option where there are known issues/channel limitations with Freeview.

Roy: You certainly would get more channels with Freesat, and it might cost less than a new aerial.

Thanks Briantist & Les, how much does the installation usually cost?
We'd need 3 TV's linked up, preferably with recording, pause live tv etc, might as well go the whole hog as they say.
