Ok, so after my previous rant about Skipton being Freeview lite and me not being able to get the channels I really wanted, I decided to try a new approach. As many years ago I used to be able to watch Granada Tv from Winter hill transmitter I thought I'd try my luck with Freeview from the same. I borrowed a DAT 45 from a friend. I will (weather permitting) give it a go this weekend and see if I can pull in the full package. Watch this space.

Andrew: The predictor says you will be wasting your time trying for Winter Hill.

Andrew: With the digital system, it is much more likley that the signal has been restricted as part of the radiation pattern in your direction from Winter Hill than was the case for analogue.

Andrew: Looking at the perdictions the signals from Winter Hill do reach your location, but reception changes over time according to what other transmitters are radiating and hence causing interference to the required signals.I would certainly give it a go, you might be pleasantly surprised. Reception is currently poor or variable, but improves in 2012, finishing up as good (BBCA, HD and SDN) or variable.
