Todmorden
OL14 7JJ using Todmorden transmitter. Picture subject to intermittent interference for last 48 hours. Seems to break up or mix current view with one from one second ago. Have retuned. Ruled out induction and mobile phone interference. What next?

Your information about local news on the Todmorden transmitter is incorrect. We get the Yorkshire news (from Leeds) on BBC1, Calendar on ITV SD, but Granada on ITV HD. (53.7179,-2.0959)

David Mansell: Prior to DSO at Winter Hill the Todmorden relay was fed directly from Winter Hill for BBC1/2 and Emley Moor via Cornholme for ITV/C4. In order to co-ordinate the switchover dates the feed for BBC1/2 was switched to Cornholme , which was in turn to be fed from Emley Moor for all four services. As you say, the details for PSB1 need updating.

Strange to get two different ITV news feeds, though. Presumably Calendar can't produce an HD feed, much the same as none of the local BBC news programmes. (53.7179,-2.0959)

You obviously don't read comments on the trivial Freeview Light transmitters as you still say that the local BBC News on Todmorden is BBC North West when it is BBC Leeds and on HD the local ITV news is Granada not Yorkshire. Perhaps when you make the corrections you claim you're so hot on, you might have a second thought about classifying BBC4HD and BBCNews HD as commercial services. (53.7179,-2.0959)

David Mansell: Thank you for your comments.
The designations of COM7 and COM8 are provided for us by Ofcom. The multiplexes belong to Arqiva, a private commercial company. It may carry BBC services, but the designation of the multiplex is that of a commercial one.
I'm going to look at why the transmitter is showing the wrong BBC designations.
Unless there has been a recent change - and there could have been - ITV HD was showing only the "ad regions" on the HD multiplex, which are London, Granada, Meridian South East, Central West.
This means that the HD service doesn't carry the correct local news in the "YTV area", you get a filler service of Granada. This may have changed on Freeview, but the only versions I can see from here in London are those on satellite: Eutelsat 28A & Astra 2A/2E/2F at 28.2?E - LyngSat

I've corrected the database, I have no idea why it had the wrong BBC value. Finger trouble no-doubt.
I'm sorry it took so long, but I do rather have a lot "on my plate" at the moment, so some things have to take lower priority,

Terrific thump on the power suuply about 15 minutes ago and now nothing at all from the relay on any channel. As the electricity supply is still working I can only assume the thump was caused by the relay going down. It seems to be one of the more unreliable relays in the country despite the paucity of channels it handles.
