DemThonp: Firstly, this is an unoffical site, so asking anyone here to 'put the full service on' or 'make the transmitter stronger' will have zero effect. Actually, it would have zero effect anyway - the signal strength and transmission area is what it is.

If you enter your postcode when posting next, we can see where you are, the path to your various transmitters, and what they are. However, if you can only get Dallington Park, read the part at the top of the page as to why you can't have the full number of channels.

20% strength is rubbish, but so is an indoor aerial...

As I said, start with your postcode - just put into the My UK Free TV settings on the right hand side at the top of the page, or put in your postcode when you ask a question. That will give you lots of information.

If you look at this thread, you can see these links by Barrys question - it includes links to the DigitalUK tradeview - which will tell you which transmitters you should be able to get, which direction they will be, and how likely you are to get them, as well as what channels are available. The 'home to mast plot' is very useful, since you can see what distance the transmitter is from you, and if the signal is blocked by hills, etc.

Your signal can only be good if there is nothing in the way, if your pointing in the right direction, and if your aerial is right for the job. It might be that none of these things are right for you.

Your indoor aerial is probably not very good (they tend not to be), so its best to replace it with something which is higher up and more sensitive. But give us your postcode, and we can help a lot more.

In theory I'm on the Dallington transmitter. I'm on the river Nene NN1 5NL. Most in the area seem to be pointing towards the Sandy Heath transmitter, but with the wrong polarity, horizontal to get a picture, yet pointing roughly at Sandy Heath. I think we are picking up the Dallington transmitter.
ITV, ITV+1, ITV2, Ch4, Ch5, Ch4+1, E4, More 4, Film 4 are all around the 58% mark & watchable.

BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, BBC news, BBC parliament, Red button 301, & CBBC are the only other channels that I can get, & these are usually around the 68% mark & watchable. But yesterday morning around 7ish am all these BBC channels dropped to 0%, so nothing. This morning (Friday) at 7am exactly these BBC channels (I didn't check them all) came back to 43%, so not good enough to get a picture to be able to watch. Nothing my end has changed, other people I spoke to experienced the same thing (not spoken to anyone this morning)

Clearly something is happening but it's listed as no problems.

For the record this area is low lying & has always had a reception problem even before digital

Me again. Ignore my last post above. I'm getting my polarity mixed up. I was in fact picking up Sandy Heath. Can't get anything from Dallington

mrs rulings: I think Dallington Park is likely to serve you in Brixworth. I suggest that you were tuned to Sandy Heath.

If you have an aerial with an in-built signal amplifier (booster) then ensure it has power as loss of power will result in the signal level dropping dramatically.

Bring up the signal strength screen on BBC One. It should be tuned to UHF channel 27 (522MHz), which is Sandy Heath. Dallington Park is on channel 50 (706MHz). What is it tuned to?
