Hey Dave & JB...
Do you know whether Freesat eliminates this dreadful interference on the BBC channels?
Or is it, as I expect, because it's 'all up in the air' (forgive my girly technicalities!) all subject to the same interference?
In which case, would an underground cable, although not free, be the only way to ensure no interference?
Forgive me! I am confused!

Brenda: Nothing really interferes with Freesat via a dish except possibly the occasional snow in winter or in some cases a thundery downpour, the latter generally only affecting reception for a few minutes or so but usually less.

Brenda: By the way, that said on the assumption that your flat has a communal aerial connection wall plate which also includes a Sat socket, this being a threaded protrusion on the wall plate rather than a normal aerial socket going inwards.

Just lost Freeview again. Happening a lot just recently. Wonder what's going on?

Also lost O2 3G services at the same time ... again.

Andrew: That would suggest something common to the two: perhaps a power failure again.
Putting the transmitter's postcode, SK13 7QJ, into
Electricity North West
says "No current fault detected" at the moment.

Thanks Dave.
O2 3G is back as well now, though it didn't come back at the same time as the Freeview. Maybe something with that takes longer to "reboot" :)

No freeview signal again. This is happening a lot recently. Is there an issue with the TV mast for Glossop?

Nicola's: mapN's Freeview map terrainN's terrain plot wavesN's frequency data N's Freeview Detailed Coverage
Nicola: Radio & TV Investigation report no fault and ENWL report no power outage.
BTW, you may be able to receive all channels directly from Winter Hill. This would require a different aerial.
