Berkhamsted
Please can anyone give some advise as to how well Berkhamsted (Dudswell HP4 3TH)will be served after the digital switchover DSO. I have 2 aerials and over the years I have long periods of using Bedmond, or Crystal palace. currently using Crystal P. with mast amplifier new aerial installation 2 years ago. However,is there any likelyhood that either or at least one transmitter will be boosted in power at the time of DSO, or some time there abouts. Analogue is always grainy but watchable when digital is unbearable (5% of the time). Many thanks for any information/ knowledge that may give some ray of hope. peter.stears@2e2.com

Pete Stears: The Digital UK postcode checker predicts good reception to be available on all six muxes from Crystal Palace after switchover on 18th April 2012. Prediction is for good reception 99% of the time in 91% of locations in your postcode area (or better, depending on mux). The power of Crystal Palace increases tenfold to 200kW on each mux. Although the Hemel Hempstead full service transmitter also has a power increase the frequencies allocated will also be in use at Hannington and Oxford, resulting in a prediction of variable or poor reception at your location.

St. Albans
Hi, I'm at AL3 5RU and tuned to Hemel Hempstead, reception fine on 41 and 44 at 70% level, 98% quality, but constant picture break up and only short bursts of sound on 55 and 59, 60% signal 85% quality. I've tried re-tuning and swithching off mobile and appliances with motors. Can you advise?
Many thanks, Tim

Tim Hayward: Have you had your Group B aerial replaced with a wideband one?
COM channels, which are those you're having difficulty with, are on C/D channels from Hemel Hempstead.
