Would a DAB radio be any good in Hunmanby, especially to get Classic FM??

Bob: Yes, but it is reasonably accurate. If you want to be sure, use a rooftop DAB aerial.

Steve: The Commercial broadcasters that do not broadcast from Hunmanby and 1,000 plus similar small relays don't wish to pay for them:

The TV licence goes exclusively to the BBC and all BBC services are broadcast from Hunmanby and are therefore available to you.

The effective power of the Oliver's Mount transmitter is greater after switchover, thus it will reach some areas that it didn't before.

Previously the four main channels may have been available (at a particular location) from the local relay (Hunmanby) and its parent (Oliver's Mount) with the former being easier to receive. Now there may be a difference in the number of channels available, hence, in some cases it may be possible to change from using the relay to the parent/main station to increase the channels available.

Hello, my name is John Spendlove at Flat S2 , Hunmanby Hall Hunmanby and post code YO14 0HZ.
The problem I have is break up and scrambled sound on all BBC non HD channels. This does not matter too much because the BBC HD channels all work with good reception for me. However we miss BBC news channel which is not available in HD.
I have done the requested re tuning which resulted in ITV 4 appearing which was not there before.
I am told there is work being undertaken on the Hunmanby transmitter this week. Can you advise please.
Many thanks John e mail DELETED@btinternet.com. Tel 01723 XXXXXX.

John Spendlove: ITV 4 has moved to the PSB2 multiplex so can now be watched on the "Freeview Light" transmitters. It is often the case that this is the problem people have with PSB1 (that carries the SD BBC channels): Freeview signals: too much of a good thing is bad for you I've removed your phone number!

Thanks for your response Brian - appreciated.

Does this mean I cannot receive picture and sound on BBC news and not in the foreseeable futurr?

Surely this is not the case.

Thanks

John
