Hello. This is a helpful site. Thanks for it! The cable for our front tv in the dining room seems to have degraded and we have lost our signal. Digi box says no channels. I cut out the bit I thought was the problem where shielding had worn out exposing inner cable covering and reconnected with to male co-ax to double female set up. I think it snapped behind a rosebush, but no luck. Front TV works off coax cable to signal booster in dining room but messy, its on the floor run behind the sofas etc.. Back tv on different aerial works fine. Was wondering if one of those mat style aerials on amazon for around 20 would work. You can just stick them on your window and you get a booster and they have a 60 or so mile range. Hesitant because your site says our post code EN48UW only works with unobstructed view from our roof to Alexandra Palace.
Is this strictly the case or are these new technology aerials capable of what they say? Here's what I'm talking about TV Aerial, Amplified HD Digital TV Aerial with 65+: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

Stepan Pasicznyk: There's no new technology in those aerials, they're just bits of wire attached to an amplifier and are only any use if you have a strong signal to start with. They also aren't originally designed for the UK as they mention reception of channels which aren't even available on Freeview (e.g. Fox HD, NBC, Sky Sports, etc). You'd be far better off getting your fault fixed properly.
