Brian Fisher: Signal from Mendip should be good at your postcode, but aerial will need to be horizontal polarisation (prongs horizontal) and pointing South-West.
If your aerial has vertical polarisation and is pointing North-East, it will be receiving the Seagry Court relay which does cover your location (but only with Freeview Lite MUXs).

I receive my TV signals from the Seagry Court transmitter and since the latest work carried out on the 31st of Oct 2012 my signal strengths have been reduced causing picture dropout/freezing. Has all the work been completed ,or is the transmitter working on reduced power?

I seem to have lost my signal from Seagry Court. I assume this is because Mendip has been retuned overnight?
From my aerial Seagry Court is almost in line with Ofxord, so after retuning I now only pick up 6 multiplexes from Oxford. So no big problem; only tonight when we would like to watch news in the West (makes mental note to try and retune tonight again).

Just looked it up on Digital UK - West :
I shouldn't have retuned. TV services at some other local transmitters (like Seagry Court) may be subject to temporary disruption but should be restored by late afternoon on 27 March. (SN253DJ)

SteppeFox: The Seagry Court transmitter is a relay of Mendip. Therefore it receives the signal from Mendip and rebroadcasts it on its own channels. Because PSB1 (BBC standard definition services) has changed channel from Mendip, Seagry Court and all its other relays need retuning so that they receive PSB1 on the new channel.

You may find that you can receive the full service directly from Mendip.

Oxford is horizontally polarised (requires aerial horizontal) and Seagry Court is vertically polarised (aerial vertical). So if you are picking up Oxford with the Seagry Court-facing aerial then reception may not be as good as it might because it's the wrong polarisation.

Unfortunately, due to an upcoming channel change with COM4 from Oxford, it might not be feasible to combine the feed from a Seagry Court aerial and one for Oxford (so as to give you West programming and COM channels that Seagry Court doesn't carry).

Retuned again last night and everything is fine again.

Thanks, Dave, for your helpful comments (most of it I was aware off). I have our aerial horizontal and because we are pretty close to Seagry Court no problem with a week signal. Currently the aerial is below the roof line so pointing it towards Mendip would mean that I would have to move to the front of the house (no chimney), which I prefer not to do.
As far as I can see the new COM4 position on Oxford won't interfere with Seagry either, so no problems expecting.
