David Smith: Because the commercial multiplexes do not wish to broadcast from any more than the 80 full Freeview transmitters.

When will the West Runton transmitter have more channels on it please? Especially Talking Pictures TV (channel 81) and many others that Tacolneston has but doesn't quite reach me in Sheringham.

Glyn Sloman: Hi, Glyn. The simple answer to your question is that West Runton probably won't have more channels added, at least until when all Freevew TV becomes HD only, using the DVB-T2 system, which will be at the end of this decade at the earliest, but probably more likely in the early 2020s. It is not currently economically viable for broadcasters to apply to put their channels on to Freeview Light transmitters such as West Runton. You could invest in a tall pole and a high gain aerial plus signal amplifiers in order to receive Tacolneston, but North Norfolk District Council is unlikely to give you planning permission for the tall pole. Richard, Norwich.

Glyn Sloman: Its a Light transmitter, so no, unless you can convince the commercial channels to do so, which is unlikely.

Graham Simms: The West Runton transmitter underwent engineering work overnight resulting in all channels changing frequency, so you will need to retune.

Sue bradley: Try retuning with the aerial disconnected to clear the channel list, then reconnect and do another retune to pick up fresh channel data. If that doesn't work, contact the Freeview Advice Line (see link below).
