Apart from the engineering works today at the Findon transmitter, the current high pressure is causing signal problems in many parts of the UK. Be patient and do not retune.

Hello Team
All of a sudden DTV Freeview has vanished. I have run the auto search several times now and no UHF channels are found.
I have checked all my connections and set to Aerial.
Has the Freeview service been cancelled now.
I receive from the Findon transmitter.
Please advise.
Kind regards
Harry

Harry Hughes: There are currently no reported faults or engineering work at Findon and there has been no announcement of any transmitters closing. Retuning was the worst thing to do as you have now deleted all of your channels which were previously correctly tuned, making it much more difficult to work out what is causing the loss of signal. You'll have to keep retuning periodically to see if the signal has returned (it's possible there is a recent fault which hasn't shown up yet) or some sort of local electrical interference. If the signal doesn't return this evening or tomorrow then it would be time to start investigating further.

Hi there. It sounds like you might have 2 or 3 separate problems there.
The Findon Relay is currently listed for Planned Engineering with possible "Pixelation or flickering on some or all channels" - as mentioned in the post immediately before your first.
This could well have been compounded by recent weather conditions (tropospheric ducting) that cause signals from more distant transmitter in Europe or the UK to give interference to your wanted signals. This won't often affect all multiplexes, so not all TV channels are necessarily affected and not everyone is always affected. This interference can be quite variable lasting seconds, minutes or longer. It should not be affecting your area at this time.
You might also be suffering interference from a new/updated mobile phone mast, perhaps more so with the HD TV channels. Have you had a postcard from Restore TV UK at all?
Unfortunately your postcode is not predicted to get very good signals from Findon, are you sure your aerial is pointing that way - compass bearing 86 degrees that's virtually due E with its rods (or squashed Xs) vertical. Despite a nearby hill you are predicted to get much better signals from Rowridge (compass bearing 245 degrees ~WSW with its rods horizontal - you'll also get more channels as Findon doesn't have the COM multiplexes.
See Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview for which TV channels are carried on which multiplexes.
The interference I mentioned above could also disrupt some mobile phone signals if you aren't in a strong location for the network you are using, but that ought to be better now.
It might also be worth you checking in your TV Tuning section that you are still correctly tuned to Findon if your aerial points that way. because if you retuned at all when you had badly pixellated pictures or no signal (never recommended as it usually clears correct tuning) you then have to repeat a retune when the signals are normal and you may have to try several times as you won't know when that is!
Findon's UHF channels are listed at the very top of this page.

Have your signals returned?
I can't find any reported faults for the transmitter nor any logged power-cuts although a brief one due to weather conditions might not be logged.
Your location could receive signals from 3 transmitters. For Findon your aerial should be pointing at compass bearing 352 degrees (that's almost due N) with its rods (or squashed Xs) vertical. Is it pointing that way?
Findon is a relay of Rowridge which is listed for Planned Engineering, so it's possible a biref interruption there may have affected Findon.

All HD Channels down over last 2 days. I have a roof arial & 5g interference attached plus booster for reception - all in working order. Worthing area so reception should be good.
Why is this reception lost?

Don Pedley:
As you may have noticed from the post before yours, the transmitter is subject to Planned Engineering and interruptions' may occur, but it is unusual for that to be several days!
As you haven't given a full postcode, we can't check that your predicted reception of the HD mux may not be as good as the others for some reason.
Check in your TV Tuning section that your are correctly tuned to UHF C47 for the HD mux from Findon.
I hope you didn't retune at anytime when you had no signal - you cannot tune to signals that aren't there - the net effect is to clear your correct tuning.
I hope that the filter you got from Restore TV is fitted before your "booster" ie. on the input.
