David Burke: Have you tried doing a manual tune on the UHF channel of the Saorview transmitter you are using? Which Saorview transmitter is it? If you don't know, what direction is your RT aerial pointing and is it vertical (elements up/down) or horizontal (elements flat)?

If it's horizontal and pointing north-west, then it is directed to Holywell Hill which is on UHF channel 30. When you scan the mode should be set to DVB-T rather than DVB-T2.

TERRY HARVEY: If you read above, you will see that it is a contenious issue that the Derry transmitter on Sheriff Mountain does not broadcast all channels. There are other areas that only receive the Public Service channels as not all transmitters broadcast them.

In your case, you "may" be lucky, albeit that you will have to fork out for a new aerial. The only way you will receive all channels is "if" you can receive them from Limavady.

Limavady is on a bearing of 78 degrees and aerials will be horizontal (elements flat). You may find that others around you have switched to Limavady so as to get the full service.

dburns: No, read the previous postings (on earlier pages) which answers your question!

You "may" be able to receive the full service from Limavady, but you will need a different aerial installing for it "if" it is possible at your location.

d.Gwilt: I think that you need to go to the opticians!

As stated above a number of times and in discussion with others the likely answer is NEVER.

Patrick: Full HD indicates that it can display a full 1080p HD signal, not that it can pick up Freeview/Saorview.

You need to ensure it has Freeview HD built-in to the TV so that it can pick up all the available channels at your location. (MPEG4 for video AND audio will pick up Saorview but you might as well get Freeview HD to actually show and HD picture on your TV!).
