Why only Freeview LITE for NIs 2nd largest city??? Disgraceful really. Areas of Coleraine and Antrim receive twice the amount of channels.

Raymond Healy: Judging by Google Street View photos taken May 2012 you have a single aerial pointing to Limavady.

This page is for the Londonderry (Sheriff Mountain) transmitter, which is also probably receivable at your location. You could potentially be tuned to Sheriff Mountain for BBC and UTV/C4/C5 rather than Limavady, perhaps because its signals are found before those of Limavady. Sheriff Mountain doesn't broadcast COM channels which carry ITV3, Pick, Dave, 4Music and others, so there's no chance of these being wrongly tuned.

You should go to BBC One and observe the tuned UHF channel number or frequency. Sheriff Mountain broadcasts on C44 (658MHz) and Limavady is on C50 (706MHz). Do the same for UTV: Sheriff Mountain is on C41 (634MHz) and Limavady is C59 (778MHz).

Hi,I just think it is crazy that the Derry Transmitter is only transmitting free view light,
Giving the size of Derry and that Couny Donegal can pick up the transmitter, I think it should be upgraded to a full service giving that not everyone can pick it up a signal from the Limavady transmitter.

Bert Gault:

It is highly unlikely that any further channels will be added to a Freeview Lite transmitter, it's just not economically vaible for the broadcaster.

Why in Londonderry we only receive a few channels, we do not get things such as Dave etc. even RTE cannot be seen, it comes up then a thing comes on screen saying Not Supported?
Are we likely to receive all the freeview channels on offer in this area or are we to forever have this substandard service. For licence fee payers it is not acceptable coming into 2018!!

The only way you can receive the full Freeview line up is trying to pick up Limavady transmitter which transmits them all. Freeview think that since Limavady is close to Londonderry, it should be reasonable for most of the city to pick up Limavady.
