Natasha: Further to my previous posting, I have looked at your road on Google Streetview. I have spotted only two aerials pointing to Marlborough. Most are directed to Mendip (which is westwards), with a few pointing at Hannington (which is eastwards).

If you are in one of those houses with an aerial directed to Marlborough then it might be worth speaking to an aerial installer to see if you might be able to receive the full complement of channels from Mendip.

In poor areas such as yours it can be the case that one house can receive from a particular transmitter but another next door cannot.

Thank you David. I amin new build flats at the end of that road which can't be seen yet on Google earth. The Freesat option seems a good idea.

Natasha: If you are to get a Freesat recorder (a PVR, which may be branded "Freesat+") you will require two feeds from the dish. If your block has a communal satellite dish, check to see what connections/sockets there are on the wall in your flat. If there are two satellite sockets then that is what you need for a PVR.

I can get PSB1 and PSB2 stations Signal strength & quality 10, but not PSB3. PSB3 is signal strength 10, signal quality 0. I have reset as per procedure. Still no luck.

Tim Newberry: The most common answer to such a question is that the receiver being used is not a Freeview HD (DVB-T2) one. What's the make and model of the device?

Today, 23rd Aug I have had poor, and on some of the few channels we do pick up, no service at all. But you report no problems from this transmitter. Am I the only person with poor reception? And when, if ever, is the Marlborough transmitter going to be up graded so we can enjoy a full service as most other people?

Peter Howard: Have you checked with any neighbours to see if they are experiencing the same problem with Freeview?

The Marlborough only carries a basic service due to it only covering a small population and won't be upgraded to to broadcast additional services. If you provide a postcode we'll be able to see if you might be able to receive Freeview from a main transmitter. Alternatively you could get Freesat which will give you most of the channels available on Freeview via satellite without a subscription.
