Since the mild floods on 4th Feb 2011 the properties on Patterdale Hall Estate (eleven altogether) have had all BBC channels only intermittently. The signal squality is at 0%, but all other channels working fine at 97%. I hear that other areas around Penrith have also had problems... any ideas? We have a shared aerial but have never had any problems before...

Jon Holdsworth: No problems are reported, can you see Single frequency interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice - I would also contact whoever maintains your shared aerial system.

Jon Holdsworth: No idea, but don't retune - it should come back on itself once the problem is fixed. You can however watch the BBC channels on the internet: BBC iPlayer - Watch BBC One live

I live in Glenridding and have lost BBC1 sd and BBC2 sd channels. I can only get Channel 44 and Channel 47 freeview channels and they have about 20% signal strength but 100% signal quality. I cannot see any channels that contain BBC 1 & BBC2

Mick Cryer:

Hope your signals have now returned, if not post back again with current signal strength and quality for each multiplex. Do NOT retune!
There are no reported faults for the Glenridding relay transmitter but as you probably know, it's a relay of the Caldbeck main transmitter which is currently listed for Planned Engineering where "Screen may go black on some or all channels".
They do not say how long the work goes on or what it involves, but it would be unusual for you to be without signals for any substantial period of time.
