Seems Haslemere transmitter still down. Won the battle with wife I'm watching football on Sky while she listens to radio in other room. What a star she is.

O2 reports an issue with a base station in the area. It would appear that the site is home to base stations for the five main public mobile networks, as well as Airwave, the network used by the emergency services.

The Twitter account for Kestral FM reported the issue at 3pm this afternoon. It broadcasts on 97.1 FM from the site.

The Haslemere transmitter is very very poor, always has been, often off the air. the range of freeview stations is limited, whilst the BBC still charge a full licence fee!! T^he signal from other transmitters is too waek to change.

Spoke to the BBC enginerring centre, they know it is off and the Midurst signal to it is weak, they have no idea when it will be restored. Digital UK have gone home so no updates from them, seems service is worse than before switchover.

I went to the barber today at 2:30 and they had just had (and were still in) a powercut. So they lost power around 14:27. They are just down the hill from the transmitter. Co-incidence?

There would still seem to be a problem with o2 service
Only showing max 2 bars with service dropping out every so often. Unable to get update from carrier.

David, you have rather confirmed my suspicions. I was looking to see if the local electricity distributor (whatever it happens to be called today) carries reports of issues on its website.

It is SSE Power Distribution and messages have been posted on the Twitter feed (the author of which has signed of for the night):

southernelecPD (@southernelecPD) on Twitter

It was posted an hour ago that the majority of homes in Haslemere that lost power now have it back.

Since the signal went down on 27th March, it hasn't returned. Anyone got any ideas why? And any idea when it might return?
The aerial is on the side of the chimney and we had good reception before the 27th March outage.

Steve Flynn: I'm interested to learn of how you got on. Can you receive from the Haslemere relay or is there too much intereference from Crystal Palace?

A resident of Grayswood has just posted to say that he can no longer get Meridian from Haslmere:
