Barbara : Also mean't to say, that as you have carried out a retune whilst the transmitter was down this will have deleted the programme from the tuners memory, the way of restoring same is by carrying out a second (or more) retunes until it returns.

Tony Moss: There are not faults or engineering work showing. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so we can access the coverage prediction for your location.

Transmitter engineering: Hi I and numbers of other are experiencing issues with the sound and stuttering visuals from the transmitter on free view HD channels. There is currently no sound on live tv and the picture stutters to these channels. There is however sound from recordings from hd channels and no picture stutter. I have had a bt engineer visit yesterday who explained that others he'd visited were experiencing the exact same problems. Hope you read my comment and I have explained it sufficiently well... Thanks

Tony Lees :

This is an independent technical helpsite. If you have BT TV and have had a BT engineer visit and he is aware of similar problems with others in your area, then he should know exactly who to report the problem to.
I can't find any current listing of problems or engineering in your area (that doesn't mean there isn't any - sometimes lists aren't up-to-date). If the problem continues, I would get back to BT and ask them if they have reported the issues to the relevant organisation (quite likely to Arqiva!).

I live in Kendal. Would pointing my aerial in the direction of a full service transmitter ( Caldbeck or Lancaster ) enable me to receive extra freeview channels such as Sky News or would I need to simply install freesat ?

Norman Stones: Caldbeck won't be available as there are too many hills in the way, but If you provide a full postcode we can check whether you are predicted to be able to receive anything from Lancaster or another full service transmitter at your location.

Norman Stones:

As StevensOnln1 has said a full postcode would be needed as some parts of Kendal MIGHT get variable reception of the COM multiplexes from Lancaster (Granada region) whereas your local "Light" transmitters are Border region.
