The Poole transmitter has always been poor in Oakdale [BH15] Best to use vertical transmissions from Rowridge or Mendip I get perfect reception on all channels from Mendip only thing missing South Today.

Mike : If you have an aerial Mendip and one on Rowridge, but the latter's COMs aren't good then either combine the feeds with a diplexer or have a separate set-top box connected to the Rowridge aerial specifically for viewing of regional content.

Online TV Splitters, Amps & Diplexers sales

UHF Bandpass filters, amplifiers for terrestrial TV

The diplexer necessarily need not be on the roof. Having it behind your TV set means you can remove it easily if needs be.

desmond frost: A postcode would be helpful. I'm not sure what a 'negative picture mode' is (a make and model would be a help as well as explaining what that means).

However, I'm taking a guess, but do you have a TV with a digibox attached? Mine does this sort of thing sometimes, and its caused by the scart connector on the back having broken slightly, and the wire connections being loose. If I put pressure on this scart, the picture goes pinkish. If this is the situation,in the short term, the best thing you can do is to leave it as it is if your getting a good picture (blutack helps to fix it in one place). While you can in theory get it repaired, the cost of that might outweigh the utility you might get from that set.

In the long term, if thats the problem, best to think about another TV. My best suggestion would be to consult my colleages at the shop opposite Homebase in Parkstone (I grew up in Poole, so I know the area well)!

Raymond Garland: At that location it is a likely certainty that Rowridge is used exclusively. Here is a terrain plot from there to the transmitter:

Terrain between ( m a.g.l.) and (antenna m a.g.l.) - Optimising UK DTT Freeview and Radio aerial location

Rowridge uses Group A channels exclusively, so a Group A aerial is what you want. See the Group A log from Vision (most logs are wideband, so this is unusual):

My neighbours and I lost freeview reception on Thursday.
It was OK in the morning, but gone by 5pm
We have repeatedly attempted to retune the TVs
I can get weak signals in the 800 ranges sometimes, but not good enough to view.
Most of the time I get no channels detected

Lindsey Thomas: Ae you in a block of flats? There is seemingly no problem with the transmitter, so it would be most likely its at your end, perhaps the main splitter in your block. Time to call out the letting company!

BTW - why use Poole? Its a light transmitter, and looking at the Digital UK predictor, your no worse trying Rowridge - you will certainly get no fewer channels, and possibly a lot more.
