Hi, we had no tv reception on Saturday, it came back on sunday but disappeared again from the early hours of today. Retuning does not help. Got some on/off pictures from 9:00 tonight but nothing that could be watched. Is there anything we can do to help the situation? Is the rosehearty engineering responsible, and if so do you know when it will be back, (day of the week will do!) or do we need a tv technician?

Are you aware of planning application for 2 large wind turbines about 300 metres from Rosehearty Transmitter? Will this have any effect on signal

Hiya,
we have been experiencing lots of picture fragmenting in the past week or so (end of September to today 11th October ) . The " new channels message " came up on the tv so I retuned it but it seems no better. We have a booster aerial to install but need the exact direction to the Rosehearty transmitter to point it.
Our existing aerial in mounted within our roof space and may not be correctly aligned.

Many Thanks

Julie Rowe:

You are only 7km from the Rosehearty transmitter which is at a bearing of 55 degrees from your location.

It is highly unlikely that you will need an amplified aerial system as you are so close to the transmitter.

If you click on the small blue box labelled 'digitaluk trade' at the bottom of your post it will tell you more details.

Note also that there has been some engineering work going on at the transmitter.

Gordon Noble: There are no faults showing. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Do not attempt to retune.

Hi,we are on Rosehearty transmitter and when I retune my tv it shows signal quality is very good, the problem arises when we switch on Humax box on one tv it seems to disrupt the free view signal on the other TVs ,I think that if I upgrade aerial which is in loft it would maybe sort out problem, this has only happened since the most recent Chang in signals in October, can you give any advice on type of aerial for this transmitter.

Regards

Robert Irvine

Robert Irvine:

In all locations you now need a wideband aerial fitted.

As you have not provided the full post code requested, we have no idea what the expected reception conditions are like at your location, please provide that full post code.

The issue wil turning on your Humax box could well be that the cables are running too close together. It has been noticed by others that HDMI cables can affect other connected devices. So move everything as far apart as is reasonably possible and try again.
