Is the problem still continuing? I can't find any reports from the BBC or Freeview of transmitter problems at this time.
There is no Planned Engineering listed either.

All:
There is a major retune event on the 4th March. The transmitter will likely go off-air overnight and the multiplexes PSBs1-3 are changing UHF channel from aerial Group C/D to channels in aerial Group A. The transmitter may be off-air for several hours and may not be back on air until late morning or early afternoon.
The new channels are as follows, in the order PSBs1-3; C23, C26, C30;
People will need to retune and a Group A aerial may be needed for satisfactory reception of the multiplexes.
Anyone having problems receiving the PSB multiplexes may need a new aerial. Providing they don't have Cable or Satellite, they can get help for a free replacement aerial from Freeview by ringing 0808-100-0288 (a free call, but there might be long wait times on the phone!).

Retuning 4.3.20
This has caused the complete loss of ALL BBC channels (BBC1,2,4 News etc). I have retuned on 3 different sets and the results are the same - ok on Ch3,Ch4,Ch5 but not BBC.
Have just spent 40mins on the phone to Freeview who don't really understand the problem but will book an engineer in 8 days time!!!! I wanted to know what the aerial orientation should now be and whether a new aerial is required. If so why the hell should I pay for several new aerials?
Freeview need to fix this and fast - there must be several hundred people in this area with the same problem.
NB Manual tuning is not an option.

S S Stoker: If Freeview are sending an engineer then you won't need to pay for a new aerial (unless you have satellite or cable) as the work carried out is funded by a help scheme setup to provide new aerials for viewers whose existing aerials are not designed to receive the frequencies new in use. Stanton Moor has moved from the higher part of the UHF band to the lower part, so some viewers with older Group C/D aerials will need to have these replaced, which is what the engineer being sent by Freeview will do.

For your information, the only thing Freeview need to fix is their efficiency at dealing with the volumes of calls they are getting. The changes are all part of the 700MHz Clearance programme mandated by OFCOM What is 700MHz clearance? | Freeview

RE: Stanton Moor Transmitter
I've just noticed earlier this morning that C26 has stopped working. The TV says weak or no signal but I have all the C23 and C30 channels. HD channels all working good (which usually go first when the signal gets a bit dodgy). It's the same on two separate TVs. I've tried re-tuning a couple of times but it's not found any C26 channels. Please can you advise if you have any faults reported.
I live at the top of Bakewell.
Thanks,
Paul

Paul Sullivan:
Hi, I can't find any faults listed at present and the transmitter isn't currently listed for Planned Engineering. Having said that we know lists aren't always 100% accurate, and with the severe weather conditions we've just had, there could be a delay in reporting all incidents.
Unfortunately you've done the wrong thing. It's never recommended that you retune, if you were correctly tuned previously, when you have no signal or badly pixellated pictures. It will usually clear your correct tuning. You cannot tune to a signal that's not there or can't be decoded.
Your best bet is to try manually retuning C26 until you get them back. You may have to try several times depending on the cause and when signals return. Once you have them back, leave it alone.
If your set shows No signal or the pictures are badly pixellated whatever the cause, transmitter faults or engineering, weather conditions, a fault on your aerial system, then retuning will not help.
Do check that your aerial looks intact and is still pointing correctly and that the downlead isn't flapping in the wind. Check all accessible coax connections and plugs and ensure there is no corrosion or water ingress. Faults like that can have an adverse effect on just one multiplex without immediately obvious effects on others.

The BBC confirmed a fault, it should be back on air now.
From 6:50am to 12:24pm on 23rd Aug 2024 BBC A Off the air due to a fault
From 6:50am to 12:24pm on 23rd Aug 2024 BBC B HD Off the air due to a fault
Hope you did not retune whilst you had no signal, you cannot tune to signals that aren't there or can't be decoded. The usual result is to clear your correct tuning.
You then need to retune again when signals are normal.
