Hi,
Just bought an HD Freeview TV with HD tuner. I live in Tiverton (Canal Hill area) will I be able to get HD channels from Stockland Hill. Ordinary Freeview is pretty naff here from Stockland, not tried Tiverton relay tranny due to limited channels. Can just about get Mendip. I suspect you are going to tell me FreeSat or Sky is the way to go!

Alan Phippen: The commercial operators regard the "public service" transmitters, such as this one, as uneconomic and as they can't profit from broadcasting from them.

As they have refused the offer of frequencies some years ago, there will be no additional multiplexes broadcast from here.

However, if you have an additional aerial pointing at the Mendip transmitter, you could get two of the three commercial multiplexes.

Alan Phippen: Freeview is "free" as it requires no subscription.

The public service channels are provided to everyone; some effort is needed to get the commercial channels in some places.
