Why is it we cannot get 'Dave', ITV 3 & ITV4 in Combe Martin, after all we still pay the same licence fee?

P T Chapman: Payment of the licence fee does not guarantee receipt of signals at all.

In any case, the channels Dave, ITV3 and ITV4 operate on a commercial basis whereby they only put up transmitters where they wish. In order to broadcast from over 1,000 relays, including Combe Martin, it would roughly double the cost of transmission whilst only giving them another 6% of the population to watch the adverts.

P T Chapman: As Combe Martin faces Wales you might be able to receive from one of the transmitters there which do broadcast the commercial multiplexes.

You would keep your existing aerial on your local relay for regional programming and have a second aerial for commercial channels like Dave and ITV4.

Look around at the rooftops; you might see others have done the same thing.

Robert France:

Which BBC service as you missing, is it the SD channels or the HD ones?
Are you getting ITV/Ch4/Ch5 channels ok?

I can't find any faults listed for the transmitter, nor is it currently listed for Planned Engineering.
Have you checked the connections behind your TV and made sure the aerial is correctly plugged in?
It would be worth you looking at your aerial and making sure it looks intact - hasn't lost any bits in the recent wind, and that it's pointing due N with its rods (or squashed Xs) vertical.

If for some reason you lost signal, if you retuned whilst that was the case it may have just cleared the correct tuning.
Look in your TV tuning section and make sure you are tuned to UHF channels C42, C39 & C45 for the Combe Martin transmitter.
