Roy Cliff:

As you can see from the report which originates from the BBC, they have not given any further information.
This is no doubt due to the current abysmal weather conditions. If the fault is due to a power outage, it will undoubtedly depend on when electricity has been restored to the area.
As I can't find any further updates, at the time of my post the transmitter may well be back on air.

Roy Cliff:

It is in fact due to a power outage.
Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks are reporting they hope it may be fixed by 22:00 30/11/2021 but you'd need to check with them for updates. Transmitter postcode is AB54 4RQ

Statement from BBC Engineering -
27 November 2021

High winds and rain are causing problems with electricity supplies to several transmitters across the UK. Regional electricity suppliers are working hard to restore services. You can check the status of your local transmitter using our transmitter checker tool.

While you're waiting you could try BBC iPlayer or BBC Sounds to carry on watching or listening to your favourite programmes. They are both available on Smart televisions and many other internet connected devices.

Mark: The transmitter engineering posts on the previous comments page report that the transmitter was off air from 26th to 30th November, which seems to be the result of the loss of mains power caused by the recent storm. If you retuned whilst the transmitter was off air then you have most likely deleted the tuning data from your TV and will need to retune again. Or have you lost signal again since 30th November?

Jane Bellamy :

The only information available is "From 9:35:03pm on 30th Jan 2022 Off the air due to a fault".
My guess from general news reports would be that the power lines are down.
Do NOT retune, as this will most likely just clear the correct tuning as no channels will be found, then you won't know when it's back on air without constant retuning!

Annie Burr:

This has been reported by the BBC -
DAB: Off the air due to a fault from 19 Oct 14:32. .
I'm expecting (and searching) for a report that Freeview is also off air. Found it -
From 2:32pm on 19th Oct 2023 BBC A Off the air due to a fault
From 2:32pm on 19th Oct 2023 BBC B HD Off the air due to a fault.
Further research suggests this is because of a power cut.
