Hi, having problems with signals from new haven as well as white hawk both seem to have gone low power,I'm running an outside Xg 10 w aerial with 14m ct100 coax new haven chan50-40db chan43-41db chan40-41db.Whitehawk chan48-36db chan51-58db(ok) chan53-35db chan56-35db chan57-48db(ok) chan60-32db. I usually get late50's db from white hawk and mid 70's from new haven.

Hi, Have been experiencing similar problems on Freeview for the past fortnight as R.shearing above: Saturday a fortnight ago experienced freezing and drop-outs whilst trying to watch the MotoGP qualifying on BBC (usually get a good signal from Newhaven despite high gain aerial with masthead amp pointing at Whitehawk). Previously had near perfect reception on all services whatever the weather/atmosphere conditions.
Intermittent drop outs and pixellating on all BBC channels (including HD) but very little problem on other transponders - signal quality and strength both seem lower than before and even go to zero in drop out situations.
My neighbour across the road has a similar set up to mine and is experiencing similar problems (we are near the top of Denton above Newhaven).
Anybody any thoughts? I've not contacted the BBC yet (and there seem to be almost daily posts re: engineering but no mention of low power or quality).
Regards.....

Further to the above: have just been watching a bit of the tennis on BBC 1, 2, 101, 102, 301 & 303 - dropping out all over the place.
Going to Pick & Dave (from Brighton) and then BBC 1 HD from Brighton: seemingly clean, stable signal so I'll manually retune this evening avoiding Newhaven transmitter.

Hi, I was interested to see the comments above about poor reception. I have also been experiencing drop outs and pixilation on Newhaven C50 for the last week or so in the Seaford area. Signal strength, which is usually about 75 will suddenly drop very low and even to zero sometimes.I have tried retuning and have checked everything out but couldn't find any problem at my end, so I am pleased that others are reporting problems.
When retuning, I have also noticed that channel 48 from Whitehawk Hill is being received at about 25 when all the other channels from Whitehawk are about 60. It's actually coming in less strong than channel 28 from Rowridge.

Michael Murphy: Interference from Dover maybe? It uses C48 @ 40kW and C50 @ 80kW (horizontal).

Hello DaveL/Michael,
Just sent this enquiry as a long shot to at800 as Brighton is undergoing 4G testing:
'Hello,
Since mid-morning Saturday 15/6/2013 I (and others, close neighbours and others in the BN9 and BN47 postcodes) have been experiencing problems of low quality/low power from Newhaven Freeview transmitter giving rise to drop-outs, freezing and pixellation: all BBC SD channels and all HD broadcasts.
Signals from Brighton Whitehawk seem relatively unaffected but power seems to be down (without the drop-outs) even there, esp. on HD.
Any possibility this may have something to do with 4G testing?
Many thanks and kind regards,
Dave Rogers'
Could be interesting!
