We need a full post code for your location so that we can look up what the signal reception conditions are like where you live.

Inverness

Hi,

My parents live in North Kessock just north of Inverness postcode IV1 3XX.

They receive their Freeview Signal from the Inverness Light Freeview Transmitter and can only get 20 of the 77 Freeview TV Channels.

Is there any plans in the next few years to upgrade this Transmitter so that they will be able to get any more Freeview Channels?

If not, what is the reason for this?

Many Thanks

Scott

Scott Carrick: The Inverness relay is a low power transmitter serving 2,000 homes which don't get a good signal from the main Rosemarkie transmitter. There are no known plans to upgrade it, probably because the commercial broadcasters would not see a return on the costs of upgrading transmitters that only cover a small number of homes. Rosemarkie shows an OK signal for the main PSB channels at the postcode you've given, but is poor for the commercial channels. I would suggest looking at Freesat to get more channels.

Aerial is on roof facing west/north. Quite tall trees beside house.
TV programs were perfect until I went on holiday beginning of October when I unpluged the T V's.
On return nothing on TV's. Have managed to get 36 Freeview channels but picture and speech is Pictulating.
Have tried everything. Can you help ?
