Paul:
IF you remove the tv aerial connection from your tv and retune it will then wipe out the memory of the television. Now put tv aerial back in go to manual settings on television and input the transmitters frequencies manually.

Paul: Bear in mind that Alexandra Palace will give you far fewer channels and also broadcasts at much lower power (it was only brought back in to service as a relay to fill gaps in Crystal Palace's coverage). Also, which transmitter is your aerial pointed at?

Paul:

Further to that said by others, to check which transmitter your TV is tuned to go to the manual tuning page and not the channel number for several of the programmes. Freeview transmitters broadcast several programme on common channels known as a multiplex, so some will be thae same as others but some different. Once you have listed some of the different channels found go to the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Digital UK - Coverage checker and put iin your post code and house number. Then scroll down the list and check which transmitter matches the channels you have found on the TV. DO NOT RETUNE.
