Andrew:
If you put your full Post Code into this site you will get some blue boxes shown, much like those beneath other posts (but they don't always show!). The digitaluk box will tell you which is the best transmitter to use, which channels/frequencies the multiplexes are using and what type of aerial is needed plus the direction it should be aimed.
Looking at the channel information near the top of this page, I suggest you need either a log-periodic or a Group B yagi. The log-periodic will be best as that will not only cover the existing transmissions but also those in the foreseeable future. The receptor rods (not the main support boom) need to be mounted vertically for Carnmoney Hill and aimed at that transmitter. How many elements it needs depends on where you live in relation to the transmitter site, so again a full Post Code will help.

For the past 2 months I have been unable to get subtitles on any of the programs from Carnmoney Transmitter. I first thought it was my tv but after checking with others, using Carnmoney transmitter who have the same problem, I concluded it may be a trmission fault.
Could you please check this out and and let me know.
Yours L.Fleck

L Fleck: Which channels have you tried to access subtitles on? Subtitles are inserted by the broadcaster, so you would need to contact the broadcaster of the channel you're watching.

Hi
I have noticed recently that the only stations I get through Freeview on Carmoney transmitter are RTE1/2 and TG4. I have tried my outdoor aerial and indoor aerial. Has there been some change recently

Eamon Keown: There have been no recent changes reported at the transmitter. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter your predicted coverage etc. Do not attempt to retune.

john: According to Digital UK, Black Mountin broadcasts the NI mux (RTE1, RTE2 & TG4) in horizontal polarity, as it is intended to provide an additional service to viewers receiving Divis (the transmitters are only a short distance apart).

Why can I not get the same programmes on freeview form the Carnmoney transmitter as from the Divis transmitter.

James McCusker: Carnmoney Hill is a lite transmitter intended to fill gaps in the coverage area of Divis. If you provide a full postcode we can see whether you might be able to change your aerial to receive the full range of channels from Divis.
