still no signal in Orford & apparently "Aldeburgh Transmitter has no problems" well it obviously does have "problems" as can be verified by posts on this site! No point in having "real time info" if status is not regularly updated, webmaster please note.

Why has Aldeburgh only limited Freeview channels? I pay my TV Licence like anybody else, but is getting only a handful of Channels! This is totally unfair being punished, because of where you live! Isnt it nearly 2015?

Andy Norman: This has been covered many times. In response to your post I direct you to an earlier posting of mine:
Where are the public service (Freeview Light) transmitters?
The only reason you have channels is due to Public Service Broadcasting -- the TV Licence goes to that exclusively. You therefore have no cause for complaint here.
The Commercial operators do not wish to invest in transmission equipment from Aldeburgh -- this is a basic law of capitalism!!

Maureen Acraman:
We have no way of checking as you didn't give a full post code. There are over 1000 transmitters around the UK and we cannot assume that you are using the Aldeburgh transmitter just because you posted here as you posted elsewhere on this site as well.

Do you know why ITV3 is not broadcast on the Aldeburgh transmitter? And if there are any plans to include it? Thanks

Jenny: ITV3 is broadcast on the COM4 multiplex which (along with COM5 & COM6) is broadcast from 80 main transmitters covering around 90% of UK households. It is not available from lite transmitters such as Aldeburgh which only broadcast the PSB1/2/3 multiplexes. You would have to ask ITV whether they have any plans to move ITV3 to their capacity on PSB2.

The Aldeburgh transmitter is relatively high powered and covers a wide area. It is long overdue that this broadcast the full range of channels, specially now that freeview are making it yet more difficult to get Tacolneston and Sudbury with their numerous channel changes.
