I live in Sprowstonwould it be possible for me to get a signal from Great Yarmouth. The signal from Tacolneston is blocked by trees.I have clear view to Great Yarmouth.

Martyn Bell: The Digital UK postcode checker makes no prediction whatsoever for reception from Great Yarmouth at your location. Note that the frequencies are co-channel with Sudbury, which could be a factor with any possible reception from either transmitter being blocked by signals from the other. The only realistic alternative for the PSB channels only is Belmont, which could be subject to interference from the continent at times. Trying different locations and various heights for your Tacolneston aerial might offer an improvement to your current situation. However, providing you have no trees in the way, satellite reception could prove to be the only reliable signal source at your location.

Hi For the last two nights early evening 7 pm onwards we have had trouble with our small tv and also large tv with getting the freeview channels. Sometimes on the small tv ITV channels only but when we try later in the evening 10 pm onwards we can retune both tvs and the small tv getting over 200 channels and the large to over 100! Then the next evening Friday all gone and have to reset again, we wondered if you have been working on the mast or something else has been happening! We have a roof aerial with a booster in the loft.
We also have virgin cable set up for our big set so obviously this is not affected. Your comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello - I have been through the above information and also contacted the helpline who checked the transmitter signal etc. I have a communal aerial on a council property. My signal (I use the ordinary Freeview only) went on Saturday morning. Initally I had no channels at all, then I got the BBC ones (including 3,4, Parliament,CBBC etc), and then I also got some other but very pixelated (ITV, C4, Film4 etc). I can get none of the C5 ones, or things like Drama, Horror, CBS etc.
I have reported this to the local council for their investigation - in the meantime a friend of mine who lives in Great Yarmouth which is about 3 miles away had a letter saying that his Freeview signal might be affected by 4G. Do you have any information about this please?

As you are using a communal aerial, you did the right thing by contacting the responsible authority. Have you checked with your neighbours using the same aerial system whether they have the same problems? If they are then that would suggest an aerial problem. If they are not them you ought to check the signal cables in your flat first, best done by replacing then one at a time. If all is still the same then you may have a TV fault.

In case anyone comes reading here, for the current date, the transmitter isn't listed for Planned Engineering but there is some variable intermittent "tropospheric ducting" around at present - https://www.bbc.co.uk/rec….jpg affecting different areas at different times & not all channels are necessarily affected at the same time or at all.
The transmitter did have a fault within the last 5 days listed by the BBC
From 3:32pm to 4:10pm on 27th Jul 2020, BBC B HD, Off the air due to a fault and they are also listing that weather conditions may be currently affecting reception, on the transmitter checker page for Great Yarmouth.

I live in Palmer Road Gorleston, why do I keep losing my tv channels on freeview tv.
I am getting fed losing all the ITV, CHANNEL 4 AND 5 channels, even lost the BBC channels as
well the other night. Not only me, but the old people rely on their tv.
Please get it sorted surely with the modern technology we can enjoy tv
without losing the connection. One way of sorting it I will refuse to pay
my TV licence.

It's extremely unwise to post your mobile number or address on a public forum as it may lead to crank calls or scams, a full postcode was all that was needed. No-one will respond to your mobile (this is an independent help site) as they won't wish to disclose their mobile number!
There is unfortunately a lot of "tropospheric ducting" around at present (see Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | Help receiving TV and radio for a simplistic explanation). In the old black and white days we used to refer to "continental interference". Interference can come from Europe or UK transmitters and it doesn't always affect the same multiplexes or all of them at the same time and it can come and go.
You are not the only ones to be affected, it's affecting different parts of the country at varying times, but your area even has had a BBC report of reception being affected by "weather conditions". It's also likely to be continuing off and on for several days, although the predictions (like weather forecasts) can change.
Refusing to pay your TV Licence will have no effect on weather conditions or climate change!
