millburn muir transmitter - information tells us that this has been out of service since 11.30am but no indication of a likely resumption of service. If this is regular maintenance the day when the Paralympics start was slightly ill thought out.

Freeview s**ks Millburn muir has been offline since this morning for engineering works, ( maybe we will get all the freeview channels) well if someone is meant to be working on it I can't see a car or van and ive had my powerful binoculars( part time peeping tom) I wish someone could explain why I pay the same amount of money for a tv licence as someone that gets all freeview channels pays the same as me. Im seriously thinking of not paying my tv licence any more and challenge it on a fairness rule if it goes to court

I agree with b.Russell we are paying the full tv licence and only getting afew channels not fare as for today how long does it take to fix a transmiter not good enough .We should all do sometning about this tv licence!!!

C: The real problem is caused by the powers that be only ever stating that a transmitter is down and not giving a fuller explanation of why, as in many cases its not actually a transmitter fault but one caused by an interruption in the electrical supply to the station, although because its an actual fault as such can cause the transmitter to be off for an indeterminable time, all relay transmitters being vulnerable to suffering from this type of problem and with it being one that's not instantly recognised as having happened hence the level of silence on the subject.
I am not of course saying that in this particular occasion that an interruption to the electrical supply is the cause of the problem, albeit that in many cases it is!

I live in dumbarton and use this transmitter, i am getting a lot of blocky pictures and freeze frames,sometimes losing signal.I am waiting on a filter for my freeview box from lets be clear at800.Any ideas when these are beung dispatched.Is anyone else getting this possible 4g problem.

Roy: No, it's not a 4G problem because there are no 4G signals operating in the 800MHz band in your part of the world.
Which channels is it? The Millburn Muir transmitter only carries Public Service (PSB) channels, so if it's to do with the Commercial (COM) channels then you must be receiving it from elsewhere and so reception may be patchy or non-existant.
PSB services are shown above.

Roy: If you read the post directly above yours, it would say ' Over the next week Millburn Muir relay: TV (digital) Liable to interruption' due to engineering. I suspect that once this is completed, the reception will be much better. There are of course no 4G tests in your area.
