Thank you for the replies.
Mmm, Darvel. I never considered that, doesn't come up on the digital UK page, but looks like it might be possible.
I'm in the town centre, behind Lidl, almost the lowest point in the town, I think, not that I've explored the whole town.
Freeview need to launch an IPTV service with better quality streams than tvcatchup

Down in the town centre I'd think your chances of Darvel are somewhere between nil and zero Neil. To be honest I think your best option in that location would be to go down the satellite route. Historically Penicuik has always been a poor reception area. Freesat will also give you more channels than Freeview are offering us here.

We all know that Penicuik gets rubbish reception - and when Freeview is introduced in June, it won't ven offer the full range of services. Why is Penicuik such a poor relative? It is a large town, close to the capital city of Scotland - where most people travel to work. You can't even get cable and just a limited range of non-BBC radio stations. Yet, we just seem to accept the poor service....

Al: The commercial operators do not regard this mast as a profitable one to broadcast from.

OK so we know that the first of the FTA digital services for Penicuik start tomorrow, but when? Is it from midnight tonight, eight in the morning or just at some random time during the day?
