I live in BS20 7PP and am unable to pick up any channels. Is this something that will be rectified soon?

ABall: What ARE you doing?
You can use SEVEN different transmitters: Mendip, Bristol Kings Weston, Portishead, Portbury, Wenvoe, Mynydd Machen and Pontypool.

Maybe I have the wrong Aerial then? Is there a particular kind? I've just moved into a new-built house and not sure which kind I have

Hi ABall,
If its a brand new house they often wire up aerial points, but never fit a aerial or distribution amp.

I live at BS20 6QB where the roof top arial can not pick up any digital signal and can not currently be replaced due to an unsafe roof (it is a very old house). In the meantime my portable arial picks up ITV/channel 4/E4 etc fine but no BBC?

Ed: You are probably picking up from the Ridge Hill transmitter then, which has not switched. If you must try an indoor aerial, put it as high up in a window as possible, hopefully pointing towards one of the high-power digital "switched" transmitters. I live only 100 yards or so from Redcliffe Bay transmitter and yet we are having digital breakups when watching a recording of Channel 4+1, this has happened a number of times in the last few weeks...we were told that when it went digital and we could get a signal from our local transmitter (rather than Wales) all would be OK !, what is the problem?.
PS: we watch TV via Freesat dish, but our recorder is through a roof ariel.

Gordon Comley: The most likely explanation is that you have too much signal. If you have a booster, try removing it or turning it down - if that doesn't help, remove the booster and try adding an attenuator.

My aerial is on the roof, looking right across the Gordano Valley. Aerial ws erected about 18 months ago. I have checked the junction inside the roof also and it appears okay. There is another television upstairs in the back of the house, with an integral digibox, this is receiving okay. Even my 8 year old grand daughter can't solve problem!! Advice would be appreciated!

C Lewis: Mendip would appear as your best bet for reception, however maybe you could indicate what the nature of your problem actually is?
This being requested as you are only indicating as having made one posting, and so no checking back can be made.
