The Cambret Hill transmitter seems stronger recently, and I've been getting signal strengths of between 95-100 % on my Philips freeview box, even during the heavy rain and bad weather over the last few days.
This evening I decided to have a go at getting the HD channels on my Humax Freeview HD box. Low and behold, they were all there (even though they don't show on my Philips SD box). Strangely, I'm also receiving the HD channels in the 800's as well.
Not sure how long this inreased signal strength will last for but the Freeview HD does look good, although I think the HD channels on my Amstrad Sky box seem better.

Why does freeview advertise up to 50 channels when you only get the basic 11 channel no itv3 itv4 5live 5usa food channel dave quest the list is endless , Why advertise these channels when they are not available in the borders and this part of scotland but shops are trying to sell you boxes and tv's saying you will get all these channels.
thankyou Terry DG8 0NZ Glenluce

Does either Caldbeck or Divis reach Newton Stewart Terence ? If you can't get Divis a the moment you may possibly get it after DSO next year when there is quite a significant power increase.

Since switchover we have experienced ever increasing "atmospheric issues". I have a High gain aerial, humax twin tuner decoder, and a signal amp. When we first set it up everything was fine. However each month seems too have more pixelated pictures or completely lost signal than the last.
Is anybody in kirkcowan experiencing similar issues with freeview. I spoke to a friend in Sorbie and he has no issues as he can pick Caldbeck and gets significantly more stations.

When is the Cambret transmitter going to be upgraded. Because frankly reception was better under analogue. It does feel like we're used test the system works and now we've been forgotten about. Does Ofcom perhpas hope that those of us who can't get caldbeck will refloat the economy by having to switch to freesat/sky. (Boo the murdoch)
