and as if by magic..CH22 returns. No idea what the problem was but I'll wait for the BBC to get back and hopefully clarify what was going on. No matter, I've read up a lot on this topic now so it was sort of worth it..thanks again for all for the help... Let's hope it stays up for more than 2 days!

David Reid: I found what you have reported really interesting as it backs up Charlie's experience, it would also have been of interest to find out if anyone actually on the Island itself experienced a failure of Ch22, or maybe even a reduced signal strength! as that could have blanked out mainland reception without killing it for locals to the TX.
Unfortunately the only person on the Island who did report a problem (alan denholm 28th June @ 08.05) could have had his problem caused by experiencing too strong a signal, however he only made the one posting so the outcome isn't known.

Brian. That is because the Rothesay relay is a freeview lite mast broadcasting only the public service broadcast multiplexes BBCA,D3+4 and if you have a DVB-T2 tuner the BBCB (HD) multiplex too.All freeview lite relays have no obligation to transmit SDN,ArqA and ArqB commercial multiplexes due to cost, hence why only two or three PSB (only) and zero COM multiplexes as such !

You may be lucky and be able to receive the full service from Rosneath, subject to the expense of a new aerial.
