RUSTY: The Beacon Hill transmitter is not operating on reduced power, where did you read that, as I cannot see anything to suggest that is the case (other than for brief periods during engineering work)? Forces TV is carried on the COM8 multiplex which is no longer broadcast from Beacon Hill and won't be returning unless the channel moves to another multiplex (no such move has been announced). Also, no one on this website has any connection with any broadcaster or the transmitter company, no one here can turn the power up.

I telephoned the BBC help number about poor HD reception in Exmouth and received confirmation that there are transmission issues at Beacon Hill which affect HD reception. There is supposedly work going on to fix it but no known completion date. No mention was made whether reduced power was involved.

I have had picture breakup since March, mostly watching free view HD channels (BBC,itv etc) through my BT youview box.Had BT out twice, boxes changed but still the same.Tried attenuating the signal By 20db ,still no different.I bought another tv aerial so both rooms are on separate aerials and BT boxes ,still the same.

Ring the BBC today on 03709016789 and report the fault, the more people that do the more likely it will be resolved, I will be making my weekly call tomorrow.

It is now 2 months since the retune and the fault is still present on HD channels. It is my belief that there must be a design fault with the rebuild of the transmitter for 5G rather than an equipment fault which surely would have been sorted by now.
When will the owner tell us exactly what the problem is and when it will be fixed.

My father got an email yesterday saying....
"There will be engineers working at the Beacon Hill and relay transmitters tomorrow 29 May. The work will involve short switching breaks and the HD channels may be impacted for up to 8 hours between 09:00 17:00"
I guess they are looking at it - but this does seem to be dragging.
Lets see if there is any improvement in the next 24 hours.

Heard yesterday that work was being done on Beacon Hill to fix the HD transmission problem. Have received one report today (from Brixham area) that the work does seem to have fixed the problem - even though the BBC transmitter information still shows a fault!

Finally had a perfect signal with no break up last night on HD in Exmouth, and the picture generally seemed to be better as well .
Well done to the engineers provided it stays like this.
I would still like to know what the problem was.
