Hi Dave,
Thanks for your reply
I am 100% sure that I am not trying to view the Analogue signal, since when I change channels using the remote control, there is always a pop-up window showing DTV and the selected channel, but BBC2 is missing from the channel list. I do realise that BBC2 is no longer available on Analogue.....

I seem to remember reading somewhere, that some early 'Digiboxes' had problems resolving particular channels ?? I'm not sure of the Make/Model of the unit in question and will not be able to find out until mid next week - friends are away at present....

Further thought to my comments above - I could select other 'Free-to-Air' channels such as ITV2, ITV3, Dave, Pick TV etc. which would confirm that I was viewing Digital TV....

Hi,
Since the first part of the digital switchover on Sep 12th I'm constantly loosing the digital BBC channels. I've tried various retunes and even the retune procedure with the aerial cable out then back in, all to no avail. The aerial is roof mounted and the location is TS17 0SH, Ingleby Barwick. I should mention that I keep getting on screen messages coming through saying 'The channel list has been updated'
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I don't want to speak too soon but I think the problem is resolved. I tried resetting the digital box to the factory default and doing a fresh installation and the BBC channels are now present.
Hopefully it'll be ok now.

Interesting to note that in the early hours of tomorrow morning Wednesday 26 September 2012 the four remaining analogue channels BBC1,ITV1,Channel 4,Channel 5 along with the lower powered pre-digital switched Mux's 2,A,B,C,D will all be switched off for good. However looking thru tonights programme schedules, they will definitely be interupted on the analogue platforms and any one could go first, not necessarily BBC1 going first and Channel 5 going last,it could go in any order. As i can receive snowy analogue reception here in Halifax from Bilsdale tonight its a case of dont blink as you will miss it.(Analogue going off suddenly forever, and in no particular order).

Well that's it, the end of analogue from Bilsdale.

BBC1 went off first at around 11:30pm, just after the programme finished. No warning, announcement or ceremonial closedown as far as I can tell. Just after midnight Channel 4 went off, quickly followed by ITV1. Again, no warning or closedown - just the 'analogue will cease at midnight' caption.
Finally Channel 5 went off at 00:05, with no warning or anything.

Saw ITV1 and Channel 5 switch off myself also, Thomas, albeit extremely badly 120 miles away in Wrexham, North Wales! Never expected BBC1 to switch off as early as 11:30pm despite one programme ending and another starting at that time. Expected it to switch off mid-programme just after Midnight so missed their closedown.

Forgot to say, 120 miles away from Bilsdale in case you wondered which transmitter I was watching it on.

A sad farewell to my garage TV, which has been available as company when D.I.Y.ing for over 20 years since I retired.

A suitable aerial and also the cost of a digi-box and cables is uneconomic.

Time to turn the clock back and use the wireless, but I guess that's progress in 2012!
