Ray moorhouse: Did you receive any of the channels on COM8 previously? If not, it may be that your communal aerial system needs adjusting as they often have filters fitted to block out weaker signals from other unwanted transmitters, which may require adjusting.

Our very limited free view channels come from a local booster, so would something like TV Fix help get the freeview channels that are missing?

Beki:

Very doubtfull, but as you have not given the requested full post code we cannot tell for sure. An indoor aerial, such as the TV Fix aerial, will be less likely to get more channels as they are always very poor unless you are very close to a main transmitter. Local TV transittters are intended to 'fill in' areas where the signals from main transmitters do not reach reliably and usually serve a small area so have much fewer viewers than the main stations. Hence the commercial broadcasters, who have to pay to have their programmes transmitted, are less likely to pay to reach a much reduced number of potential customers as it is not commercially viable for them.

If you give a full post code we may be able to advise more.

For over a week every day now we are having transmission problems even after resetting our TVs

Mr Beck:

Check that your TV has tuned in to the correcrt channels for your preferred transmitter. We cannot tell which that is, out of the over 1100 available, as you have not give a full post code.

Why did you 'reset' your TV? There has not been any changes made to the operatiopn of Emley Moor, if that is your 'local' transmitter for some onths and it usually a bad idea to keep retuning when things are working correctly.

I have lost signal from emely moor on the BBC and ITV muxes. Also ch41 with hd .
I have been upto aerial and tested pre amplifier and I have signal on all other muxes accept 41-44-47.

All ok upto this evening.
I'm using an horizon signal strength meter. Signal strength ranges from 58-61 dB on carriers that are working.

The current weather patterns are causing reception problems across the UK, it's worse in some areas than others. So [lease be patient for the weather to change. Do not retune.
