The symbol shows the location of the Emley Moor (Kirklees, England) transmitter which serves 1,550,000 homes. The bright green areas shown where the signal from this transmitter is strong, dark green areas are poorer signals. Those parts shown in yellow may have interference on the same frequency from other masts.

Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Emley Moor (Kirklees, England) mast?

<embarassed update> It turns out that my wife was watching the analogue BBC1 channel on the TV this morning. She'd tried the digibox already before I got up and the signal was still poor (although not quite as bad as last night apparently) and she wanted to watch "The Wedding" on BBC so analogue was her only option at the moment.

Hi Brian
Thanks for your help so far.
I have also spotted that Mux c is suddenly unwatchable (but not a problem as I don't watch any of those channels!), so it's not just Mux 1.
What you seem to be overlooking with both Shaun & I is that until last week, everything was fine & now it isn't. So saying that a loft-based aerial is no good for freeview doesn't help when it *was* OK (mine is on the roof by the way).
I have looked at the last link regarding induction interference and again can see no reason why this would be the case.
Do we know for certain that the signal strength hasn't been altered?

marjory: Is it possible to check the reception of analogue BBC2 on C51? If you are missing MuxC on C50- and Mux1 on C52+ it is worth looking for a possible problem with reception of nearby frequencies. A faulty booster oscillating or overloading the signal around C51 is a possibility. On the other hand trees in leaf or a poor connection causing the highest frequencies to become weak spring to mind. If all frequencies were affected or reduced power working was in place (although no engineering work is listed) I would have expected MuxA to be affected first.

Live in BD19 area and want to know if any works are going on at present as we have had to re-scan our BT Vision box today and lost a lot of channels. Digital Switchover is causing us no end of trouble, we have not been able to watch most channels for weeks, we had full signal strength on all channels when we had them but poor signal quality on all channels other than BBC and it is getting really annoying. Does anyone know where we can get a refund on our TV licence?? as we can not get a full service?

Joanna: There is no refund on the tv licence if you are able to receive any channels at all.You said you are able to receive the BBC channels which are the only ones paid for by the tv licence. Remember too that in unswitched areas the analogue service is regarded as the one you are expected to receive, the Freeview channels are a bonus. After switchover the PSB transmitters are expected to cover the former analogue service area, with the COM muxes regarded as a bonus which are expected to serve an area at least as good as the low power Freeview service.

I live in the village of Bramham ,
just to the east of the A1(M).Around about 24
miles N East of Emley Moor and if I put in my Postcode I am told Bilsdale TX is best.So having said that, I get all SD multiplexes ok Q 100% S 60 to 70% (most of time),odd times strength does reduce some time.but most of time ok 98 per cent. Can also receive HD also ok, in fact in last week or so HD Q&S as gone up a little.all that from EMLEY MOOR.So if there as any reductions in signal,it as not shown up to me.

Thanks for all your suggestions.
Having had a search around, I also note that Mux D is also on reduced signal. So that's at least Muxes 1, A & D affected in the last 8 days or so. It seems to vary throughout the day. I hope I can watch Dr Who tonight!
