adam: When you go onto one of the HD channels, go to signal strength/quality and it should say on that screen that it is on UHF channel 41. This might be shown as "Ch" or "Channel" or similar.

If it is 54 then it's tuned to Wheatley or 27 is Halifax. If you have either of these, then that is your problem and you need to get to 41. Depending on the operation of your receiver will affect how easy this might be.

On freeview, why do I get Granada TV on ITV1HD and YTV on ITV1.
I'm in Wakefield and my aerial is aligned to Emley Moor - it's a pain in the neck switching fromITV1-HD to ITV in order to watch Clocal news.
Both BBC 1 signals give me correct region.
Aerial is located in loft and all signal strengths are god

D.A.Butler: There are only four or five different HD feeds for ITV regions, hence most of them have to take those of another region.

D.A.Butler, we are all in the same boat! as regards the HD channel so untill there is a change, you will have to continue to switch back to channel 3 YTV/ITV1 for local programmes.
Plus as Dave Lindsay posts.

As said above, there is no ITV1 HD feed for Yorkshire. Emley Moor is taking the Granada feed as this is the nearest region that has an HD feed. Surely it's not too difficult to switch over to the SD channel for local news?

Also, BBC One HD is a national channel and as such does not have regions. When BBC News cuts away to the local newsrooms, a message appears on BBC HD saying that it can't show programmes for every part of the UK, and that your local news is on channel 1 or 101.

I live in Bolsover, S44 6RZ, and receive signals from emley moor transmitter, with the aerial in the loft. Up until around 3 weeks ago, reception on all channels was brilliant, but now we are having problems with reception breaking up badly, sometimes losing signal, on the ITV 1, 1+1, 4, 5 and More 4 channels. We have another aerial also in the loft connected to my sons tv, and he is having no problems with his reception. Any ideas?

Ian Keddle: I assume, going by the predictor, that you are receiving your TV from the Wharfedale relay transmitter. This is a "Freeview Light" transmitter as it doesn't carry the full range of services.

See here:
