With the new COM7 and COM8 at Ch32 and 34, will there be any chance at all of receiving them on a Group B aerial?
I can see Emley Moor from where I am (WF5).
The main loft aerial is a Group B, and I have 2 set-top indoor aerials that currently receive perfectly to their TV's.

Paul: There is a very good chance that you will receive the new muxes on a group B aerial. The gain curve of the aerial falls away gradually towards the lower UHF frequencies, in contrast to the sharp fall in gain experienced with frequencies higher than about C54/C55!

Paul: The signal is very strong in Ossett so I don't think there's any chance that it won't work!

Thank you MikeB. You are right the problem occurs in wet weather. The communal aerial is not as high as a roof aerial and it's line of sight to the transmitter has a large tree in it's path. I think I am correct in saying thinking that wet leaves can reduce the signal?
I assume when the aerial was installed the tree was smaller and not a problem. Obviously no-one had the foresight to make allowances for the fact it would get taller!
I have kept a close eye on things for a couple of weeks and I am 99% certain this is the problem. I have sent an email to the housing association asking for the aerial to be raised ,or the tree to be given a good pruning!
Thanks again
Norma

Thanks for the answers to the question about Ch34 and Ch36 on a Group B - I forgot to ask about the local MUX at Ch56 on a Group B - will that be received (Ossett has a really strong signal).
Thank Paul
