Mrs Duffield: Look at the top of the page - the trasnmitter seems to be fine. Logically, its a problem with your aerial system, and before or at the point where the signal is plit to the various TV's.

I live in the NG18 4DB part of Mansfield, which is only 14 miles from the centre of Nottingham and our local TV studios, all of the aerials in our area point in the direction of the Emley Moor transmitter as historically this gives the strongest signal although, according to your map we should also be able to receive a good signal from Waltham.
The above means that we receive Look North which covers some of our immediate area but I would also like to receive East Midlands Today & Notts TV on channel 8.
I have a Samsung UE40F7000ST TV and a Panasonic DMR-BWT735 DVD Recorder and wonder if there is any way I could tune either the TV or recorder or both to receive the above stations.

I live in York and in the past when I've retuned my TV to receive Freeview channels, I've either not been able to receive BBC radio stations, or if I have been able to receive them after a retuning, they have disappeared soon afterwards. I've tried both automatic and manual retuning, but I've not had any radio station on Freeview for the last two years. Since my last retune, the available channels include none at all in the 7** series. Please advise as I would love to be able to receive BBC Radio 4 Extra in particular!

John H. Brogden: If you're able to receive BBC One and Two then you should be able to receive BBC radio. Do you have more than one Freeview receiver, if so, is it the same on al? I would suggest it's a problem with your receiver.

Hi since the 5th April I have experienced blocking and poor reception on most channels. I have retuned my Panasonic TV (approx 2 years old) with no improvement. The signal strength as per the set up menu ranges from 1 very poor on bbc1, ITV etc to 10 on pop (frequency 754 MHz (ch56).
I don't understand technical jargen so if you explain simply it would've appreciated
Thanks

David Ison - a postcode would be useful and you say ch.56 is fine but you don't say on which channels your BBC and ITV are registered. I suspect you are receiving BBC and ITV from Bilsdale and not Emley Moor. Ch 56 is unique to the Yorkshire area at present so that is why it stands out. When you re-scan your channels, start it with the aerial disconnected until ch.30 is reached and you should avoid the Bilsdale channels for ITV and BBC. You could also reset everything on your TV then manually select the channels for scanning. If it's an HD capable TV then start with channels 32 and 41,then the channels that all TV's can receive, 44, 47,48,51,52 and lastly 56.

MUX COM4/SDN Emley Moor, S18 8PR. Outside aerial above roof.
Retuned on 13 May after reception problems on Drama(20). All stations were then very good, but as of Thursday 14 May all programmes on UHF51 had gone zero signal strength.
Done this: First disconnect the aerial lead from the Freeview box or TV set and reconnect it and then follow this reset procedure to scan for channels again. NO UHF51.Tried the above again, but leaving aerial out until UHF30 reached, then plugged in aerial. NO UHF51.Can it be that my present aerial, which has worked fine up until last Thursday, can suddenly be no good?
Thank you.
