Gareth;- May be worth a try in doing a full retune,I.e from scratch do a 'first time installation' again, that might solve your problem.

Hi Des

Tried that but sadly no luck.

We are going to get the antenna pointed to the original transmitter it was pointed at.

TBH don't know why it was switched anyway - it happened when an engineer came out to fix a damaged cable coming into the house.

he fitted a new antenna at the same time (don't know why either - the last one was only 18months old).

And all freeview was working fine up to the point where we had the damaged cable.

Dear Sir
I am installing Triax TMP 5x32 multiswitcher in our dorm.
Every room has Satellite+Tv (diplexer)walplate..
What kind of Tv aerial should I look for to give good single to digital/freeview boxes in every room before buying.
Our post code is ST4 2RB about 2.5km from Fenton transmitter.
regards

I have an LG tv with built in freeview. Since installing a Freeview + box (Goodmans GDB 1225TR)and using an RF lead from Freeview+ box to TV the signal strength for TV has dropped . I am using Fenton transmitter with good quality roof aerial.Any suggestions would be welcome.
As a matter of interest I have an indoor aerial for a TV in my loft and pick up an excellent signal from Winter Hill.

John Gardner: Flyleads supplied with set-top boxes tend to be rubbish. You could try replacing it with one of these: Online Satellite/TV/FM/DAB Cable, Leads and Connectors sales. you could split the cable before it gets to the box rather than using the 'loop through'. A passive splitter will lose about 4 dB of signal, but that might be preferable to whatever noise the Goodmans box is adding. Try Online TV Splitters, Amps & Diplexers sales . (RG47SH)

chass: Sometimes the broadcasters change the region name slightly to indicate that they've changed the multiplex line-up slightly, adding or removing a dot at the end or adding a space before the dot. I don't know if this was in the D-Book specification, but it causes problems for some boxes.

Is there no way to get it to store the channels from both 'regions'? If it won't, try selecting the 77 channel variant then manually tuning whatever multiplex carries the channels that you're missing. Mux A and D both carry 27 channels, so it could be either, but it's most likely to be Mux A as ITV3 is carried on this mux. At the moment, Mux A is on C22.

You should also see whether there are any updates available for your box, and if not, let the manufacturer know about the problem.

No multiplexes have yet changed frequency at Fenton. Mux 2 will move to C33 on the 20th, to avoid problems when The Wrekin, Bromsgrove and Lark Stoke start using that channel for HD services. You will need to retune again to keep ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5, ITV 2, Channel 4+1, More 4, E4 and ITV1 +1. The main switchover is in September.

Recently had a new aerial fitted for digital viewing and new tv with freeview. No problems whatsoever and the quality of all the channels were very good. Since the 20th April I have retuned the tv many times and the picture quality of ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 has been just about watchable during the day but totally useless at night. Whatever has happened has knocked my confidence with the Fenton transmitter. Is this poor reception going to improve or do I need to move to a better transmitter?
