A friend living in Lightwood (near Meir) is recieving Freeview HD. Is it possible he is recieving this from The Wrekin or is something going on in the area enabling him to pick up HD? I live in Stoke but can't revceive it (i do know it's not being broadcast from the local transmitter until September). Thanks :o).

Paddy: It is certainly possible that your friend is receiving the HD mux from The Wrekin. Another possibility is Winter Hill which is receivable in many parts of Stoke. A group C/D aerial set for horizontal polarisation is required for reception of Winter Hill.

Hi
Up until a few weeks ago we have had no problem getting all the freeview channels, now on all the itv channels the picture keeps breaking up, I've changed the cable from the socket to the tv, did get a slight improvement but today we can't get any of them. Our ariel is in the loft and has not moved position so am at a loss as to why this is happening.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

S Griffiths: This can happen with loft aerials. If you have checked everything on the Freeview reception has changed? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice page, you may find moving the aerial to the roof will restore a stable service.

Thanks for you reply Briantist.
We had an outside aerial put up in January to connect the TV's in the bedrooms, we took the TV that's connected to the loft aerial into the bedroom and plugged the outside aerial in and everything was fine, so it must be due to the loft aerial, just seems strange that it's worked fine for the last 6 years and now all of a sudden it doesn't. Anyway we are going to see if we can connect another one to the outside aerial.

Hi, as of 16:00 today, I have lost BBC4 and all BBC radio. I live about 2 miles from the fenton transmitter. I have retuned, etc. I have all other channels. I have been using freeview for a good few years and never had this problem? Thanks.

Ofcom have projected that a local television service for Newcastle including Gateshead, South Shields, Sunderland could use an Interleaved Frequency on the Fenton transmitter using C29
This announcement belongs on the Fenham page not Fenton
