lee johnston: The service started on 24th September 2010. You will need a Freeview HD box (or set), of course.

Is it me, my ears or my Panasonic DTV? The sound quality is poor and the level changes quite a lot. Mainly BBC.

JohnR: It is probably the settings on your set. Try removing any "automatic" or other forms of sound enhancement.

I live in Baglan (in line of sight of Kilvey Hill, Swansea) but only want English channels. What do I need to do.

Fred, apart from regional news, very few programmes are different in South Wales, so unless you want SouthWest news, there would be little advantage in changing from the strong Kilvey Hill signal. If you have a clear view south, you might be able to receive Huntshaw Cross on channels 62,59,56,55(HD),52 and 48. You might note fluctuations due to the Bristol Channel rise and fall and due to 56,52,48 being weaker. You would need a CD-group high-gain aerial, horizontally polarised.

It looks as though it is mainly the brief switching outages at Huntshaw Cross, not work at Ilfracombe, Coombe Martin or Challacombe. I guess its gonna hurt: no regional BBC radio or TV and the libraries are closing... Still,
we have nice views :-)

Hello folks. Anyone out there having trouble with Huntshaw Cross please? Since yesterday, I'm no longer receiving any HD channels and have also lost a number of radio stations. All standard def. channels seem to be OK though. I can't see that there's any engineering work on the go, so any help would be much appreciated, please!

HD was ok yesterday, as was SD. Brief engineering outages are being listed on this page, presumably there is ongoing work at HX,
but I have not noted any longer outages.
