NIGEL: Yes of course, im sure they will happily spend another few million quid to double the power, upgrade the antenna and feeder cable. just because you dont know how to set your telly up!
95-98% signal strength is too much anyway, and probably made worse by your 'booster' which is probably overloading your set

Nigel:
The reason for the break up is that your signals are too strong! You should aim to have between 50% and 85% for SD services and between 60% and 85% for HD services. So at 95% you have too much of a good thing! Try adding an attenuator into the signal feed cables, being careful not top allow the weight of it to 'hang' on the socket at the back of the TV. Attenuators are available cheaply and range from 3dB upwards. Try a 3dB and have a 6dB available in case 3dB is not sufficient. When you fit it check what the signal strength is before and after fitting. Your aim is to bring it down to just under 85% on ALL channels.

peter thornton: Maybe never. Talking Pictures is broadcast on the temporary COM7 multiplex which is broadcast from 30 main transmitters covering around 75% of UK households and is due to close in 2020. Neither Talking Pictures or any of the other channels on COM7 have announced any future plans regarding their presence on Freeview.

I have two TVs. One receives channel 45 ( film4+1) and one doesn't . I am close to huntshaw cross and I don' t understand why. On the TV that doesn't receive it I can examine the bundles and channel 45 is not included. I get signals on channels 48, 50, 52, 56 , and 59. Could someone please explain why?
Also Planet Knowledge channel 245 does not seem to have an icon on the apple store and I can't get it on either set so how do I receive it?
We are an all Apple household.

Roy Jenkins: Film 4 +1 is broadcast alongside the PSB HD channels (BBC1 HD, BBC2 HD, ITV HD Channel 4 HD, Channel 5 HD) and therefore can only be received on a TV or set top box which is capable of receiving HD channels.
Planet Knowledge's website has a page explaining the different ways you can watch and includes a link to their iPhone/iPad app - HOW TO WATCH

No channels on Huntshaw Cross Channel 55 (film4+1 and HD channels) working. All others are fine. Signal strength appears to change from zero to quite good, but signal quality shows as quite low (on my LG TV).
Has been working fine before 2 weeks ago, then a problem over weekend, then last week it was OK. Failed again at weekend and still not working.
Sometimes "no signal", then a broken up (pixelated) picture, then works for a few seconds and then freezes.

Please tell Arqiva as they operate the transmitters. They are nothing to do with this website which is entirely independent and intended to assist viewers having reception problems.

Lost sound on all BBCA and BBCB channels - they work ok for about 10 seconds and then totally mute.
Other channels are fine
