Hmm, it gets weirder. Both machines have a signal, of sorts, but neither can tune into any station, citing a weak signal. I've adjustable attenuators inline (bought when the power went up) but with or without them it's the same.
I'll continue investigating.

Paul - in case you were curious, it's the aerial splitter in the loft. A passive one, but still it failed. I've a new one ordered.
The signal to the splitter is fine (checked with TV from next door), but too strong without the splitter and/or attenuators.

Anyone having trouble in the Edlesborough/Eaton Bray area? About a month ago we started getting bad reception on BBC channels through our Humax Freeview box. At the same time, BBC through the freeview TV was fine. Then suddenly yesterday it seems all channels both through the Humax Freeview box and the TV freeview are really bad. Unwatchable. Ariel seems ok. Just reinstalled channels on the Humax, but no real improvement. (51.8650,-0.5834)

All OK in Totternhoe, perfect/reliable signal at all times. It could be something more local to you (new building work, local interference, etc), or a problem with your setup, which is probably the most likely cause. Is is possible that your aerial moved in the high winds and is still blowing about, hence the variability of your signal. It is probably worth checking with a neighbour to see if a local problem is the cause. If your neighbours are OK, it's probably your setup that needs investigating further.

Cheers Adam. Yeah we did ask some neighbours and they have no problem. Tis very strange. The aerial still seems to be pointing in the same direction as the others in my street. I can only guess our booster has deteriorated, or for some reason our aerial just doesn't cut it anymore. It is very small compared to most of the others in our street, but why all of a sudden!!. Not sure if I should go for a decent aerial, or replace booster first?!?!?! (51.8650,-0.5834)
