John Stone: Rouncefall is only transmitting on one MUX (CH44) until approximately the 20th of July when two others will join it, these being Ch41 & Ch47, the latter being for HD purposes.

Have you actually re-tuned your Humax? as it cant receive any more channels than your TV unless its picking them up from elsewhere, the way to check being to go into the tuning menu and observe the MUX channel number showing whilst on one of these channels.

Hi, yes I have re-tuned the Humax and it is receiving channels from Sudbury. Yesterday both Tv and box were. They are on the same ariel, ie it loops through the box. I know it sounds odd but I can't think of an expanation. I have been watching digital signals from Sudbury for 10 years now so I know what channel are transmitted from there.
John.

John Stone:Yes, as although the predictor is indicating Rouncefall and Sudbury on an equal footing as far as reception is concerned, (BBC, ITV etc) however your particular location could be favouring Sudbury, although this is difficult to determine as both Rouncefall and Sudbury are on the same frequency.

The other strange aspect is that the channels that are missing are shown as being on Sudbury's lowest powered MUX D (Ch50) but reception of that channel is not shown as being possible at the location mentioned, but just for a test you should carry out a manual tune of Ch50 to see what comes up,

However the only other possibilities at this present time for receiving these programmes are showing as Bluebell Hill (Ch39) or Dover (Ch55), so maybe you could try an individual scan on these two.

Basildon

Thank you all for your help. To update you as at 19.08.11. My postcode is in fact SS13 3ND and does say my part of Basildon, Pitsea would be be off with BlueHill. Which I have had a wide band aerial in use. As said before it gave very good service on a the FreeView channels. I also logged the signals of each channel and every one was in the 'High Gain' spot. After July 20 I switched the aerial around to Sudbury, without much i found I was able to in must cases line up to the 'High Gain area, however since then I have now noticed that many of the channel are droping down from 'High' to 'Good' or 'Fair' which in fact 'Fair' did tend to show drop outs in many channels at times. However the general picture/sound was about 90% very watchable. However we are to buy a new Freewiew TV with HD built in it, and not know as HD Ready.
Today I moved the areial towards what i feel is the new Rouncefall, with top rate 'High Gain'on the channels I received. However I feel the areial maywell not be right, as Iwas not able to received BBC1,BBC2, ITV1, Ch4, Ch5. but just about six which was ITV2 +1 , ITV3, BBC Palmen't, 5USA,5STAR,Challage (the quiz TV Station)
I purchesed a new areial locally here in Pitsea which was listed as '32Ele'ments wide band. If I point towards the new TX at Rouncefall should I receive at lese the main 5 channels up to HD standard.

I welcome any replys if anyone can answer. Thank You.

David Hutson: You'll only get 4 HD channels from Rouncefall - same as any other post-DSO transmitter. One MUX is allocated for HD content and four programmes fill it up, so you'll get BBC HD, BBC1 HD, ITV1 HD & Channel 4 HD (i.e. no BBC2 HD or Five HD).
The complete line-up of programmes on Rouncefall gives you 16 SD non-subscription TV programmes plus the red button interactive screen, in addition to the HD programmes.

Rayleigh

I have been using Rouncefall successfully since it went live, and whilst waiting for Crystal Palace to go through DSO.

I have lost all channels over the past 24 hours.

Is this the Inversion effect, or has a re-rune event occurred that I have missed, or something else? I am in Rayleigh, postcode SS6

lisa: There has been no retune events for Rouncefall.

I wondered if there might be any connection to your change in reception and switchover events that happened last night.

Midhurst switched last night but it did not use the same channels as Rouncefall before or after switchover.

Upon further investigation, I seem to be getting erratic and flaky signals from the Mendip transmitter near Bristol!

I have had this before, and it was due to the inversion effect. So, hopefully it will improve very soon.

I am waiting on the Crystal Palace DSO date, which is 18th April, as a cure-all for my historical reception problems. Hopefully.

Rouncefall signals have been fine but then I live about 2km from it. Just an observation; I have noticed new aerials and masthead amps being erected in the area (Hockley, Hawkwell and Rochford)and they are still being pointed towards Dover, Bluebell Hill and Crystal Palace. People must be paying out £100 plus for these instalations when all they need is a small aerial for Rouncefall/Sudbury. I have now fitted an indoor aerial to my tv which works fine.
