Following the retune including factory reset, BBC4 HD is no longer receivable from Rowbridge on Channel 56. Signal strength is only 25% so all I get is no signal. During the day the off air message is displayed.
It was OK most of the time on Channel 37 except when wet & windy.
CEEBs has also gone the same way.
Is the BBC trying to phase out BBC4 as it only seems to have repeats most of the time?.

StevensOnln1: With the help of binoculars I've managed to determine a black tip on the end (the opposite end to where the reflector is.)
I think black means wideband (and I know red is Group A as that was on the antenna I had previously.)
So I'm pretty confident the Yagi is a widebander and should pick up channel 56, which it doesn't.
I tried calling the installer for confirmation but he's on holiday till April 3rd.
I'm now thinking about dumping Freeview for the Sky FreeSat platform IF the aerial has to be changed again, but will wait till I've spoken to the installer as he is a good, honest chap.

BBC4 HD and other COM8 programs have gone completely. I live in central Southampton and previously had good reception on all channels. Manual tuning onto channel 56 shows 0 signal strength.

IanH: Chances are you're using a Group A aerial which is not designed to receive higher frequencies such as UHF channel 56. If you don't have satellite or cable you may be eligible for a free replacement wideband aerial which can be arranged by contacting the Freeview Advice Line (see link below).

Nick H:
You can get advice and possibly a 'free' aerial by consulting Important changes to Freeview TV signals | Freeview As long as you don't have cable or satellite, they can usually offer a free replacement aerial.
Any new aerial should be a wide band type so it can receive all the signals now and into the foreseeable future.

HI Mike,
I searched various pages on Important changes to Freeview TV signals | Freeview and could find no mention of free aerial upgrades only links to paid aerial engineers. Do you have a direct link to the page mentioning free aerial upgrdes?

Greg Stewart: It's in the FAQ section on that page - call the Freeview Advice Line on the number given at the top of that page and they can arrange a free replacement wideband aerial where required.

Our new Panasonic 58ex700b TV only accepts Freeview and freetime - no Freesat that gave us many more channels than Freeview here in Brighstone. The range of channels is limited to the main BBC and ITV programmes. How and when can I get a better signal?
